Resources

Expenses for the normal day-to-day activities, maintenance and repairs are covered by funding from the Simon Kenton Council, Boy Scouts of America. Since it absorbed the Licking County Council and acquired the camp some years ago, the Council has greatly improved the camp, bringing it up to its current high standards Camp Falling Rock is regarded by many as being the “Premier Camp” among the several in this large Council. Unfortunately, though, in our world of limited resources, there isn’t always enough money to provide everything we’d like to offer our Scouts at Camp Falling Rock.

The Camp Properties Committee, consisting of dozens of volunteers, had often discussed the possibility of setting up a fund to provide for certain contingencies and needs not otherwise covered by Council. There was a strong desire to simultaneously provide these extra benefits to the camp, to avoid being an additional administrative burden to the council, and to establish a legal basis for tax-deductibility of donations.

It was in these discussions that The Rock Foundation was conceived.
